Giving Good Days Newsletter – Winter 2026

A Message from Our President

As 2026 draws to a close and the holiday season approaches, I am grateful for all we have accomplished together to help people living with chronic and life-altering conditions access the care they need.

Throughout the year, Good Days delivered critical assistance to patients nationwide through our copay, premium and travel programs. We also advanced patient-first policies through Chronic Disease Day, connected patients and advocates with policymakers, and provided educational resources to help people better understand their healthcare benefits and make informed decisions about their health.

As we look toward 2027, we remain focused on protecting and expanding access to care, including our ongoing efforts to secure additional funding for programs serving people with retinal diseases and other conditions where the need remains significant.

For patients who rely on Good Days assistance, re-enrollment is an important step in preparing for the year ahead. Our annual re-enrollment period is now underway, and clients who received assistance through eligible programs this year are included in the process and can apply for continued support.

Our team is ready to help patients navigate re-enrollment and continue accessing the assistance they need. We encourage you to complete re-enrollment by December 31 to help avoid processing delays as the new year begins. Visit mygooddays.org/reenroll to check your eligibility and complete the process online.

Thank you to our patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, donors and partners for being part of the Good Days community. Your support helps us continue working toward a future where no one has to go without essential care because they cannot afford it.

From all of us at Good Days, I wish you and your loved ones a happy and healthy holiday season and a wonderful New Year.

With gratitude,

Clorinda Walley

President, Good Days

Client Profile: Irv Gers celebrates his 100th birthday

Good Days recently had the privilege of celebrating a remarkable milestone with longtime community member Irv Gers, who turned 100 years old.

We first shared Irv’s story in a 2018 newsletter, when he told us about a life defined by family, service and a desire to help others. A U.S. Navy veteran, Irv enlisted shortly after graduating from high school in 1944 and served in Okinawa, Japan, during World War II. After returning home to Pennsylvania, he worked in the local coal mines before beginning a 35-year career in the insurance industry. He also spent more than six decades as a member of the Freemasons and Shriners International.

Irv came to Good Days after being diagnosed with macular degeneration and facing significant out-of-pocket costs for his treatment. Our team worked with his physician’s office to help him access the care he needed so that he could maintain his eyesight. Irv told us how much that support meant to him.

“The only thing I can say is it’s been a wonderful experience. Good Days has been so much help that I cannot explain in words,” he said.

Eight years later, we were delighted to help Irv mark his 100th birthday. Our team sent a few personalized surprises to recognize the milestone. But the greatest gift has been getting to know Irv and having him as part of the Good Days community.

Happy 100th birthday, Irv. We are grateful to have been part of your journey and honored to celebrate this extraordinary milestone with you.

Key Quarterly Content: Good Days Hosts Executive Panel at Specialty Summit USA

Good Days hosted the closing executive panel at the recent Specialty Summit USA in Las Vegas, bringing together leaders in healthcare policy, patient advocacy and support services to discuss how the healthcare system can better serve patients.

Good Days Chief Operating Officer Randie Odebralski moderated the panel, “The Path Forward: Aligning Policy, Operations, and Patient Impact.” He was joined by Cienna Ditri, Executive Director of the Periodic Paralysis Association; Dane Christiansen, Managing Partner at Health and Medicine Counsel; and Julie Wells, Director of Strategic Relationships at Give an Hour.

The conversation explored the gaps between well-intentioned healthcare policies and what patients experience in practice, including administrative burdens, the need for meaningful patient and caregiver involvement, mental health support and better measures of patient access and outcomes.
