Giving Good Days Newsletter – Fall 2026

A Message from Our President

We know there are still far too many people who need our assistance, and we remain committed to expanding the availability of our grants so more patients can access the care they need.

I believe we can achieve that goal by bringing together patients, healthcare leaders, innovators, advocates, and policymakers around the shared purpose of ensuring that every person has access to the treatments and support they need to live healthier lives.

This quarter was a powerful reminder that scientific breakthroughs alone are not enough. Innovation only fulfills its promise when patients can benefit from it.

That message was at the heart of my remarks at the Cell & Gene Therapy Summit in Boston this summer, where I had the opportunity to join leaders from across the biotechnology community to discuss the future of advanced therapies. We are witnessing extraordinary progress in medicine, but the conversation must also include affordability, access, and the patient support systems that help turn breakthrough science into better health outcomes.

We carried that same message into our annual Chronic Disease Day activities. We hosted a Leadership Luncheon at MassBio, in Cambridge, Mass., where healthcare executives, patient advocates, researchers, and industry leaders came together to explore how we can ensure innovation reaches the people who need it most. Just days later, we traveled to Washington, D.C., where we met with Members of Congress and federal leaders to advance conversations about policies that improve access to care and support the millions of Americans living with chronic diseases.

We also recently released our 2025 Annual Report. In it, we discuss the lives changed through our programs as well as the growing impact we are making as a national voice for patient access. From expanding financial assistance and care navigation services to strengthening partnerships, advancing public policy, and leading initiatives like Chronic Disease Day, every milestone reflects our commitment to removing barriers between patients and treatment.

None of this work would be possible without you. Whether you are a patient, donor, healthcare provider, partner, volunteer, or advocate, you are part of this mission. Thank you for your continued trust and support.

With gratitude,

Clorinda Walley

Honoring Healthcare Leaders Who Embody the Spirit of Service

At this year’s Chronic Disease Day events, Good Days was proud to recognize the recipients of the Len Rodgers Spirit Award, honoring individuals whose leadership reflects the extraordinary legacy of Len Rodgers, a former Good Days client whose life embodied compassion, perseverance, and service to others.

Even after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma, Len refused to let his illness define him. Instead, he approached every challenge with optimism, determination, and his trademark mindset of, “What’s next, and how do we deal with this head on?”

Through the nonprofit he founded, Len worked tirelessly to serve communities around the world, continuing his mission until the very end. The Len Rodgers Spirit Award recognizes leaders who carry forward that sam

e spirit through extraordinary contributions to healthcare access, patient advocacy, and medical innovation across the chronic and rare disease communities.

This year’s recipients included U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul and Congresswoman Lori Trahan, recognized for their bipartisan leadership to expand access to care, advance pediatric and rare disease research, and champion policies that improve health outcomes for patients and families.

We also honored Dr. Tyler Nelson, whose groundbreaking work as both a neuroscientist at the University of Florida and rare disease patient is helping drive new discoveries in periodic paralysis and exemplifies the transformative impact of patient-informed research.

We congratulate this year’s honorees and thank them for carrying forward Len’s enduring spirit of service and commitment to improving the lives of others.

Partner Spotlight: 20/20 Onsite

Good Days was honored to welcome Sonali Bloom, CEO of 20/20 Onsite, as a featured panelist at our Chronic Disease Day Leadership Luncheon hosted at MassBio.

20/20 Onsite is transforming healthcare delivery by bringing specialized vision care and clinical trials directly to patients through its innovative mobile care model. The company partners with employers, healthcare organizations, and life sciences companies to improve access to high-quality eye care while also supporting decentralized clinical trials with point-of-need ophthalmic assessments. Their work helps reduce barriers to care, improve patient participation in research, and bring critical services closer to where people live and work.

During the luncheon, Sonali joined Clorinda Walley for a discussion on expanding access to clinical trials and ensuring that innovation reaches underserved communities. The conversation highlighted a shared commitment to patient-centered healthcare that removes barriers, improves access, and ensures that medical breakthroughs benefit the people who need them most.

We are grateful to Sonali and the entire 20/20 Onsite team for their leadership in advancing a more accessible and equitable healthcare system.
