Giving Good Days Newsletter – Fall 2025

A Message from Our President

With the upcoming release of our 2024 Annual Report, we’re proud to share how your support continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. From financial assistance to policy advocacy, Good Days is growing to meet the rising needs of families across the country.

In the past year alone, we helped more than 400,000 individuals access the care they need through our copay, premium, travel, and diagnostics assistance programs. Behind every number is a story of resilience and a family facing fewer hardships because of your generosity.

Still, the need continues to grow. We’re excited to announce that a generous donor has launched a 1:1 matching campaign in support of our Vascular and Neovascular Retinal Disease (VNRD) program, which assists patients with diagnoses previously covered by our Macular and Retinal Disease programs. When donating online, you may earmark your donation to benefit the VNRD program to double your impact.

This summer, we were proud to lead another powerful Chronic Disease Day campaign. Held annually on July 10, the initiative continues to shine a national spotlight on the chronic illness crisis in America. This year’s campaign saw growing recognition across social media, while state and local governments issued official proclamations in support. Iconic landmarks from Niagara Falls to the Aloha Tower lit up orange in solidarity.

From engaging biotech leaders at the ARPA-H hub in Dallas to uniting advocates and lawmakers in Washington, D.C., we’re pushing forward lasting solutions.

Thank you for standing with us as we lift the burdens of chronic illness together.

With gratitude,

Clorinda Walley

President, Good Days

A Care Navigator Who Understands: From Patient to Advocate

This fall, Tina, one of our dedicated Good Days Care Navigators, received long-awaited news. She was officially given the all-clear after her second battle with thyroid cancer.

Her journey through diagnosis, surgery, radiation treatment, along with the damage to her vocal cords, has shaped not only her life but the way she supports the patients and providers she serves every day.

“I’ve had financial issues with my medical bills. I know what it’s like to deal with everything that comes with a chronic illness—the paperwork, insurance, appointments, procedures. It’s overwhelming,” she shares. “When someone calls Good Days, they want someone who understands and is patient with their questions. I really want to help them because I know what it’s like to be passed around from office to office, just trying to get answers.”

As a Care Navigator, she now works through email and chat to assist clients and healthcare providers and handles 40 to 70 inquiries daily. Even after treatment affected her ability to speak on the phone, her commitment never wavered.

“That’s what drew me to Good Days. I’ve lived what our clients are going through. I’m grateful for the chance to be here for them.”

Her compassion extends beyond patients to providers as well. “Some of the most amazing people I’ve met have been part of my medical team. If I can support those providers to better understand how to support patients in turn, because I know how much they care, it means a lot.”

Her experience has deepened her empathy, making her an invaluable source of support for both patients and providers alike.
